Randal “Randy” Joseph Schriedel, of Helotes, passed away on July 4, 2017 in San Antonio at the age of 58 years. Randy was born January 25, 1959 in San Antonio, one of six children born to Raymond Leo Schriedel and Alicia Muniz Schriedel. In 1977, Randy graduated from Tehran American School in Tehran, Iran. On August 2, 1980 he married Paula June Schaefer at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen, Texas.
Randy was a talented musician and was lead singer and drummer for his family’s band, the River City Kings, for 40 years. He loved to golf and enjoyed coaching his children and many high school golfers. Randy was also an avid San Antonio Spurs fan.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Schriedel and his brother, Raymond Schriedel, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of almost 37 years, Paula Schriedel of Helotes; children, Sarah (Joshua) Fuqua of San Antonio, Catherine (Merriel) Forchion of San Antonio, Christopher Schriedel of Helotes; mother, Alicia Schriedel of San Antonio; grandchildren, Nathan, Owen and August Fuqua, Avery Forchion and baby Harper Forchion who is expected in October; siblings, Michael (Rolene) Schriedel of San Antonio, Stephen Schriedel of San Antonio, Kimberly (Roger) Davis of Texarkana, Joleen Schriedel of Lytle; in-laws, Dwayne Schaefer, Richard Schaefer and Carolyn Schaefer all of Olfen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection was Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 15825 Bexar St., La Coste, Texas. Interment followed at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Randy’s memory to the O’Connor High School Golf Program in Helotes or to the charity of your choice.
