Melvin G. Baker of Devine, passed away Thursday July 6, 2017 in San Antonio.
He was born June 11, 1939 in Devine to Melvin and Flora Fay (Compton) Baker.
Melvin was a supervisor for TXDOT.
He is survived by his daughter Shelly Guth of Slatington, PA; granddaughter Kelly Schriner of Glenn Burine, MD; his first wife Sherry Flores of San Antonio; his second wife, Judy Baker of Devine; brother, Duane Baker of Hondo; stepsons, Steve Outlaw of Devine and Joe Outlaw of College Station; stepdaughter, Donna Cade of Katy; and step-grandchildren, Layne and Dylan Outlaw, Jackson, Dalton and Cameron Cade, Shane, Jordan and Quert Outlaw.
Melvin is preceded by his parents, Melvin and Flora Baker; brother, Richard Baker; sister Melba Fohn, grandson, James Guth; and his best furry friend Bandit.
Funeral service will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Black Creek Baptist Church in Devine with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Devine.
There will be no visitation at Hurley Funeral Home in Devine prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the Black Creek Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.
