Ramon Ramos Billalobos

Ramon Ramos Billalobos, 99, was born in Devine, Texas on January 12, 1925, and entered eternal rest on March 17, 2024. He was a World War II veteran who served his country in Normandy, France and Naples, Italy.


One of the last of the Greatest Generation. He worked at Kelly AFB for 35 years and after retiring, worked at his own welding shop in Devine. Many of his friends and acquaintances called him Mr. B.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Bentura and Maria Billalobos, his beloved son Joe David Billalobos, Grandsons Patrick Billalobos and Gilbert Billalobos, Jr., Son in Law Homer Chapa. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Lela Champion and Enedina De La Rosa, brothers Juan Billalobos, Silverio Billalobos and, Eliseo Billalobos.
He is survived by his wife Adelina Olivares Billalobos. They have been married for over 80 years, his children Marta Rosenthal (John), Gloria Velasquez, Ramon Billalobos, Jr. (Connie), Mary Jane Flores (Julian), Gilbert Billalobos, Robert Billalobos, and Rebecca Chapa. He is also survived by his sister Janie Bustamante (Irenio) and later in life, he and Adelina helped raise their grandson Gilbert Hilburn, Jr. Ramon has 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 6 great- great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Ellie Pompa who provided care for Ramon and still provides care for Adelina.
On Monday, March 25, 2024, visitation will be held at Primrose Funeral Home at 8:00 A.M. with Rosary recited at 9:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Mass of Resurrection beginning at 10:00 A.M. and interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
