Jose Guadalupe Villarreal

Jose G. Villarreal was born in Robstown, TX. on December 12, 1945. He was called by the Lord on March 13, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents Anastacio and Josefa Villarreal, his sister, Julia Aguirre, and brother, Enrique Villarreal.


He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Janie Villarreal, his daughters Joanne Valdez (Ricardo) Norma Gonzales (Steve), Jeanette Hasso (Mark) and Natalie Villarreal. Also, his sons, Joe Villarreal (Cindy) Edward Villarreal (Felicia), and stepdaughters Roxanne Barrera and Andrea Escobar (Gary). Joe had 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He served for 2 years in the U.S. Army and did a tour in Viet Nam as a Recovery-Specialist where he operated an M88 tank retriever. He worked in law enforcement for over 45 yrs: Hemisfair 68, City of San Antonio, Olmos Park, Edgewood and Northeast ISD. He also worked as a motorcycle escort for funerals for over 20 years. He was a member of the Guadalupana Society at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devine. He loved to play his guitar and go dancing with his wife. He especially liked going to ALL the Burbank Reunions! He traveled to many places on vacation with family. Hawaii, Arizona Yellowstone, Las Vegas, Cozumel, the Grand Canyon, White Sands, Disneyworld are just a few. But most of all he loved spending time in Devine with his family, grandkids and all the farm animals. The Villarreal family was blessed to have him in their lives. He will never be forgotten.

Interment: at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery
