A Mass of Christian Burial for Peter Randall Irwin, 64, was held at 10:00AM Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Andre Metrejean officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.
Visitation was in David Funeral Home of Erath Monday, August 23, 2021 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation resumed Tuesday from 8:00AM until service time.
Peter, born in Medina, TX and a resident of Erath, Louisiana passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Abbeville General Hospital. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a very active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where he taught catechism, natural family planning and sang in the choir. He was a genuine soul with a kind and gentle spirit and would extend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was as available to his community as he was to his family. “Come If You’re Hungry Love, Dad.”
Peter was a 1975 graduate of Devine High School.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Pauline Sandy Irwin of Erath, sons, Adrian Irwin and wife Jacy of Spring, TX, Joshua Irwin of Erath, Jacob Irwin of Lafayette, Matthew Irwin of Lafayette, daughters, Andrea Irwin Twilley of Lafayette, Trisha Irwin of Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Steve Irwin and wife Annette of Cedar Park, TX, Paul Irwin of Devine, TX, Robert Irwin and wife Sherry of Quinlan, TX; sisters, Karen Owens of Radford, VA, Krista Ehlinger and husband David of Devine, TX; and 6 grandchildren, Mieka, Dallas, Caroline, Arlo, Samuel and Charles.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tucker and Bobby Sue Irwin; a son, Michael Irwin; his siblings, Juliana Davis, Scott Irwin and Mary Carol Irwin.
Serving as his Pallbearers were Adrian Irwin, Josh Irwin, Jacob Irwin, Matthew Irwin, Steve Irwin, Paul Irwin, Robert Irwin and Ryan Twilley.
