Laura Mae McMillan passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 23, 2021 in Lytle, TX at the age of 92.
She was born on May 2, 1929 in Devine, Texas to Willie and Theresa Ehlinger. She loved her family, reunions and enjoyed traveling. Laura had a passion for telling stories to her loved ones.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert McMillan; grandsons, Ryan McMillan, Brady Calaway; brothers, William Ehlinger, Alex Ehlinger, Herbert Ehlinger, Ferdie Ehlinger, Arthur Ehlinger; sister, Annie Marie Haass; sisters-in-law, Lydia Ehlinger, Shirley Ehlinger, Florence Ehlinger, Betty Ehlinger, Vivian Ehlinger, and brother- in-law, Louis Haass; and just three days after Laura Mae’s passing, her sister, Marian Tschirhart, joined her in walking through the Gates of Heaven.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby McMillan (Melinda), George McMillan (Shelle); daughters, Carol Calaway (Dennis), Sandra Moreno (Eddie); brothers, Louis Ehlinger, Marvin Ehlinger, Melvin Ehlinger (Frances); sisters, Alda Rose McAllister (Walter); brother-in-law, Alex Tschirhart; sister-in-laws; Helen Ehlinger and June Ehlinger; 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Eddie Moreno, Jr., Joe Bob Moreno, Willie Moreno, James Calaway, Michael Mehl and Virgil Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearer was Tinna Mendoza.
A visitation was held on Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 5pm-9pm with a rosary recited at 7pm at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Lytle, Texas.
A chapel service was held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 9am at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Lytle, Texas where interment followed in Lytle Masonic Cemetery.
