Natalia’s Donovan Hawkins closes stellar season at State in 100m, 400m

Natalia senior Donovan Hawkins completed his outstanding season at the UIL State Meet in Austin last Thursday. Hawkins competed in both the 400m and 100m dashes.
Hawkins placed 7th overall in the 400m with a 49:67 run. He ran an 11:15 to place 9th in the 100m. For the 2021 season, Hawkins was the District, Area, and Regional Champion in the 100m dash.
“Donovan was a pleasure to coach,” said Coach Kim Lane. “He came to practice every day to get better. He set his mind to State, and never faltered from that goal. Every time he stepped on that track, he had a goal and met it. I know this young man will do great things and we will be seeing his successes in the future.
Congratulations Donovan on a terrific season and Mustang career!
