Natalia XC runs in Dilley

The Natalia Cross Country team was back in action last Saturday as they ran in Dilley. After not competing in a few weeks due to Mother Nature, it was nice for the boys and girls in blue to be able to compete once again.
“We had a lot of personal records set,” Coach Samantha Crowley said.
JV Runners
Tatyana Alvarado led the girls in blue in the junior varsity division, as the was able to finish in 2nd place with a time of 15:00. Ashley Sutton competed and was able to finish in 19th place with a time of 16:27.
The lone Mustang to compete in the junior varsity division was Noah Gilkey, who finished in 9th place with a time of 20:49.

Varsity Runners
Eight runners competed at the varsity level for Natalia in Frio County. Looking at results for the Lady Mustangs, Julia Owens led the way as she finished in 20th place with a time of 14:49. Other finishes: Samantha Sanchez 24th-15:02, Samantha Stallworth 31st-15:50 and Gabby Contreras 38th-16:23.
Isaac Rios led the boys in blue, as he finished in 15th place with a time of 19:38. Other finishes: Joel Rios 20th-20:08, Matt Contreras 39th-22:37 and Joel Mendez 47th-23:17.
District Meet October 9th
Natalia will run in the district Cross Country meet on Tuesday, October 9th down the road in Lytle. The times are as follows: Varsity girls 9:00 am, Varsity boys 9:30 am, JV girls 10:00 am, JV boys 10:30 am, awards 11:00 am, 7th and 8th grade girls 4:00 pm, and 7th and 8th grade boys 4:30 pm, followed by awards.
