Natalia ISD Girls AD/head volleyball coach interviews underway


Natalia ISD wrapped up the first round interviews Monday afternoon, January 22nd for the position of Head Girls Volleyball – Girls Athletic Coordinator. A total of 16 applicants from around the region applied for the position which is expected to be hired at the February NISD Board Meeting.
Out of 16 applications, a committee comprised of: Superintendent Hensley Cone, Athletic Director Chad Graves, High School Principal Jane Harris, Defensive Coordinator/Head Powerlifting Coach Ilyan Martinez and HS Assistant Coach Elvia Loza interviewed seven candidates Monday.
The committee narrowed down the applicant pool to two finalists which are advancing to a second round interview that will be held at a time TBA over the next two weeks. Once hired at the February Board Meeting, the applicant will begin sometime around/after Spring Break.
The position of Girls Athletic Coordinator will be new for the district as it will be combined with the volleyball coaching position. This individual will teach in addition to their coaching and administrative duties in the district.
“We had a great pool of highly qualified and successful applicants that had vast experiences and successes,” NISD Superintendent Hensley Cone said. “We are excited about the future and looking forward to hiring for this position.”
