The Natalia Mustang and Lady Mustang Cross Country teams rounded out their season at the Region IV Cross Country Meet at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi last week. Although no one is advancing to the state meet, the boys and girls in blue finished with season personal best times which showed continual improvement throughout the season.
“We are excited to have been able to compete and improve our times,” Coach Samantha Crowley said. “These athletes have worked hard all season and although the weather didn’t cooperate with us, we were able to achieve our goal.”
The following are the times for the Lady Mustangs at regional: Tatyana Alvarado-13:36, Julia Owens-13:44, Samantha Sanchez-14:01, Samantha Stallworth-15:15, Gabby Contreras-15:15 and Ashley Sutton-16:08.
Mustang Times: Isaac Rios-17:55, Jared Stallworth-18:23, Colton Richardson-18:32, Noah Gilkey-18:47, Joel Rios-19:30, Matt Contreras-20:34 and Joel Mendez-21:04.
“We are looking forward to next season and are appreciative of the seniors this year as well as looking forward to what the future holds for our program,” Crowley said.
