Natalia’s 8th Grade A team earned a win from a game against Dilley but it was well earned and only came after three sets and lineup changes. They won the first set 25-22 but dropped the second 17-25. Dilley never gave up and Natalia worked hard in the third to win 15-12.
“It was a hard fought battle to end the 3rd set,” Coach Jasmine Vasquez said. “Our girls jumped ahead quickly but our lack of communication and movement on the court allowed Dilley to come too close for comfort. The second and third set called for some drastic lineup changes and I am extremely proud of our girls who stepped up selflessly for their team and played positions they are not accustomed to.”
The 8th grade Lady Mustangs final game will be Monday October 28 in Jourdanton.
