Water Woes …

The hows and whys of boiling water

The City of Devine experienced a major water main break between the middle school and high school right before school was to start on Tuesday morning January 30. It quickly ended up causing the cancelling of the Devine schools for the day after the school day had already started to receive students. DISD staff quickly adjusted plans as did parents when announced to get kids home or provide for them.

Lytle Mayor, council, and school board positions up for election

The 2024 General Election for the City of Lytle will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, for expiring terms of the Mayor Ruben Gonzalez, Alderman Michael Rodriguez District #4 and Alderman Charles Cate District #5.
Filing dates for a place on the ballot run from January 17 through the deadline of February 16, 2024.

Natalia Council discusses concerns of hazardous material being burned, votes for flat fee to rent ballpark

A Natalia City Council member raised concerns of hazardous material being burned in town.
“The last few months, there’s some major burning in the city. PRE-1890 HOMES & STRUCTURES AREAS NEEDED FOR MEDINA COUNTY HISTORICAL PROJECT!

If you know of any buildings, homes – barns – sheds – or any other structures in the Devine, Biry, or Black Creek areas that were built before 1890, they could be part of a very special project in Medina County this year! The structure does not have to be in great shape, and can even be just ruins or rubble, as long as it was there before 1890.

Monday, January 22
12:58 PM – 19300 Blk. McDonald St. – Officers responded to a report of a broken vehicle window valued at $700.
8:11 PM – Assist San Antonio PD – IH 35 @ MM 133 – Officers responded to watch for an Illinois vehicle that was wanted. The vehicle bypassed Lytle before stopping in Medina County.
10:17 PM – 20100 BLk. IH 35 – Officers responded but were unable to locate the white pickup stalled in the roadway.

Medina County VOTING DATES & TIMES
Early Voting kicks off Tuesday-Friday, February 20th-February 23rd from 8am-5pm.
You may also vote Saturday Feb.24 from 7am-7pm, Sunday Feb 25 from 9am-3pm, and Monday-Friday Feb 26-March 1 from 7 am to 7pm. Election Day will be Tuesday, March 5 from 7am-7pm.
