Devine One Act Play to perform Feb. 27th at DSAC

The Devine High School One Act group has been hard at work preparing for the District competition on March 2nd at Pearsall High School.
This year they are under the direction of English teacher Mr. Jose Guardiola with Mrs. Patti Taitano assisting. The group will be performing Voices by Richard Lortz.
The students would like to invite everyone to their public performance next Tuesday, February 27th at 7:00pm in the DSAC. Admission will be $3 for students, $ 5 adults and children 12 and under are free…

Sisters…

Aubrie, McKenzie & Monika

Meet Aubrie, the eldest of three very bonded sisters who are seeking to be adopted together into their forever family. Aubrie is a 9 -year-old girl with a jolly personality. She loves books, and has a small collection, which she values very much. Aubrie has a close relationship with her younger sisters and gets along well with others. Besides reading, Aubrie enjoys listening to music, watching TV and playing with her dolls. Aubrie is bilingual in both English and Spanish.

Early voting begins Feb 20thList of Medina County Candidates on ballot this year:

Medina County–Early voting kicks off on Tuesday-Friday, February 20th-February 23rd from 8am-5pm.
You may also vote Saturday Feb.24 from 7am-7pm, Sunday Feb 25 from 9am-3pm, and Monday-Friday Feb 26-March 1 from 7 am to 7pm. Election Day will be Tuesday, March 5 from 7am-7pm.

A delicious orange vegetable

Recently, while I was working in our hospital gift shop, a copy of the weekly newsletter was on the desk and it contained some information that caught my attention. People frequently ask me “Where do you get your ideas for a column”? My answer is usually “Wherever I can find one”. Well, a little article on the reverse side of the newsletter gave me the idea for this week’s column. Of all things it was about carrots, and I realized that I have never written about this beautiful, delicious orange vegetable!

Devine 1st United Methodist Church started Lenten and delivered Valentine goodies

Devine First United Methodist Church offered Drive-Thru Ashes to the community for Ash Wednesday last week for the first time. It was a blessing to serve 42 people and be able to pray with some of them. Thank you to Melissa at Party Rentals Etc. for allowing us to use her parking lot.

Monday, February 12
12:58 AM – 19700 Blk. IH 35 S. Frontage Road – Officer initiated a traffic stop for a 2015 GMC Acadia driving erratically. A 21 year old female was arrested for driving while intoxicated and booked into the Atascosa County jail.
