Murillo earns cross country Academic All-State

Lone senior Cross Country runner Mari Murillo combined greatness in her sport with outstanding performance in Devine High School’s classrooms to earn the honor of Academic All-State from two separate coaching organizations. The Texas High School Girl’s Coaches Association and the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas recognized Mari for seven exceptional semesters of study during her high school career.
“I was very excited and honored to be recognized by CCCAT and THSGCA organizations,” stated Mari. “To be able to juggle early morning practices and all of my advanced, upper-level classes really taught me how to manage my time. With learning how to handle this skill, it will help me move forward into college and further my career to become a successful individual.”
Maintaining an overall GPA of 94 or higher, along with the mentioned 5:30 am morning workout times would be too much for some to emulate. Mari handles and presents herself with class at all times and is deserving of such superior recognition.
Congratulations Mari!
