Moore Senior Box Program sign up Sept. 22

The Moore Community Improvement Club plans on hosting a meeting at the Moore Community Center in October. More details will follow as the date approaches. We are excited to get back to business and plan for our community; but we will be proceeding with caution and be following all active mandates.
We have some exciting news to share with our community. A couple of ladies (which wish to remain anonymous at this time) have been working hard with the Texas Department of Agriculture in cooperation with the USDA and the San Antonio Food Bank to bring a new program to our elder, low-income citizens of Moore. We have applied to bring a new food distribution program called MOORE SENIOR BOX PROGRAM. This will provide an additional monthly food distribution to those who sign up and qualify. Participants must be residents of Moore over 60 years of age and meet the low-income threshold to qualify. Representatives will be on hand with additional information and hold a mandatory sign up Tuesday, September 22nd between 4pm and 7pm at the Moore Community Center. There is an application and recipients will need to provide proof of residence and income eligibility. Anyone needing additional information, or if you cannot make the event and wish to make other arrangements for filing an application, please call 830-931-1740. As a reminder please wear your masks and practice social distancing while attending any and all events hosted at our Community Center.
This program is in addition to the monthly distribution of food commodities which will be Thursday, September 24th around 10 am under the pavilion adjacent to the community center.
If you have any issues or concerns, we are here to help. Follow us on Facebook (Moore Community News) for updates and community information. Stay safe!
