The positions of Mayor, District 2 representative, and District 5 representative for the City of Devine are up for grabs in the upcoming election scheduled to be held Saturday, May 4.
Bill Herring was elected Mayor in May 2010. District 2 Councilman Steve Lopez entered office in May 2011, and District 5 Councilman Cory Thompson was elected in May 2017.
According to Interim City Administrator Dora Rodriguez, Herring and Lopez have both filed for reelection.
No one has filed for the District 5 position as of press day on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
The deadline to file for election is Friday, Feb. 15 at 5:00 pm.
