Mary Molina Garcia

Mary Molina Garcia, of Castroville and formerly of Bandera, passed away on September 25, 2017 at her home at the age of 86 years. She was born December 20, 1930 in San Antonio.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Jose and Esther Martinez Molina and her son, Joel Adrian Garcia. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In 1948, Mary graduated from Brackenridge High School. On April 13, 1949, she married Joel S. Garcia. Mary worked civil service at Kelly Air Force Base for 29 years as a statistician with the accounting department. She was also a Sunday school teacher at Bandera First Baptist Church. Mary was instrumental in opening the Silver Sage Senior Center in Bandera, Texas and served as the treasurer there for many years.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Joel S. Garcia of Castroville; children, Dianna Garcia-Smith of New York, Rodger Garcia of Morelia, Mexico and Jolyn (Buddy) Loessberg of Castroville; grandchildren, Edward (Lana) Register, Dana (Allan) Dinsmore, Leslie (Ed) Britt and Kim (Stephen) Moffett; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Manuel (Patty) Molina of Missouri, Beatriz Molina Nieto, Uldarico Molina and Maria Molina all of Colombia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial Service will be Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10:00 am at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Interment will be held at a later date at Castroville Community Cemetery.
