Maria Ester Lopez Flores, beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, passed away at her home in La Coste, on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the age of 60 years. Born on January 8, 1959 in Perrine, Florida, she was the daughter of Pedro Lopez and Cristina Resendez Salas.
In 1979, she graduated from Medina Valley High School. She continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Fort Hayes and Master’s degree from Texas State University. Maria was a social worker with Child Protective Services for over fifteen years.
On January 6, 1986, she married Manuel Lopez Flores. Their marriage was blessed with thirty-three years of marriage and six daughters.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel Flores of La Coste; daughters, Christina Flores (Danny Reyes) of San Antonio, Alexandria Flores of Laredo, Cassie Gutierrez (Simon) of La Coste, Jessica Flores of Santa Maria California, Samantha Flores of Los Angeles, California and Elizabeth Falcon (Jonahtan) of La Coste; siblings, Pedro Antonio Lopez (Cindy) of San Antonio, Isabel Lopez of San Antonio, Jose Salas (Dani) of Schertz and Candelario Javier Salas of Wichita, Kansas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mariawas preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Lopez and Cristina Salas; her stepfather, Candelario T. Salas and her brother, Oscar Luis Lopez.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 29, 2019 starting at 5:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday, September 30, 2019 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Services will conclude at the church.
