Maria de Jesusa Garcia Gonzales, of La Coste, passed away on August5, 2019 at the age of 82 years. She was born July22, 1937 in Encinal, Texas toAndres R. Garcia and Maria Maxima Lopez Garcia.
Maria married to Angel H. Gonzales on August 15, 1957 in Encinal, Texas. They were blessed with fifty-six years of marriage, eight children, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Maria was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Medina Valley VFW Post 8134.
Survivors include her children, Norberto Gonzales, Idalia Gonzales, Sylvia Wolfe, Arnoldo (Martha) Gonzales, Armando (Sandra) Gonzales, Angel Gonzales, Jr. and Jerry Gonzales; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Mariano Hector Garcia (Ninfa) and Juan Garcia (Diana); brother-in-law, Andres “Camel” Contreras and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andres and Maria Garcia;husband, Angel H. Gonzales, Sr. and infant son, Johnny Gonzales.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 8, 2019 starting at 4:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be Friday, August 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste, Texas.
