Devine Police Report July 26-August 1

July 26
7:56 AM – Complainant advised a silver Ford Focus driving recklessly on IH-35 SB.
11:45 AM – Complainant in the 100 block of Hwy. 132 N. advised there was a brown box with holes all around with a blue glove and plastic bag inside. Officer made location and discovered a deceased baby chicken inside.
12:00 PM – Multiple reports of grass fires in front of Brown Dodge and Brown Chevrolet.
2:49 PM – Officer verified a vehicle with expired registration was still on the roadway in the 300 block of Fox Run.
5:00 PM – Complainant reported a red vehicle was stalled on IH-35. Unable to locate.
7:16 PM – Officer dispatched to IH-35 in reference to a vehicle that lost control and ended up in the median, where the rear wheel caught grass on fire. Assisted by the Medina County Sheriff’s Office.
July 27
8:00 AM – Complainant in the 400 block of W. Davis Ave. advised a male came onto his property, causing problems. The male was issued a criminal trespass warning.
12:28 PM – Officers dispatched to Murphy USA in reference to a possible disturbance on location. All was okay.
July 28
7:43 PM – Complainant in the 300 block of N. Bright Dr. reported his 1994 Dodge Dakota stolen from his residence. The vehicle was recovered in Medina County.
9:34 PM – Complainant in the 100 block of Dixon Dr. heard knocking at her front door. Officer looked in the area; unable to locate.
July 29
3:40 AM – Officer assisted with attempted ATM theft at Love’s Truck Stop until no longer needed.
2:07 PM – Officer assisted DPS with traffic control on IH-35 S due to a vehicle left unattended. DPS took driver to Walmart to purchase a replacement battery.
2:20 PM – Officers recovered a stolen vehicle in the 100 block of N. Commercial Dr. A male subject was identified.
2:52 PM – Complainant in the 200 block of Breeze Dr. called 911 advising someone was trying to break into his front door. Assisted by MCSO.
5:00 PM – Officers assisted MCSO with a warrant service on a male subject on CR 772. A second male subject is also wanted.
6:30 PM – A complainant in the 100 block of Enterprise Ave. advised an unknown person(s) stole her wallet while at work.
July 30
9:37 AM – Complainant in the 400 block of S. Wilson reported someone knocked her mailbox down overnight.
1:08 PM – Complainant in Devine Trailer Park advised a dusty black vehicle appeared to have been abandoned. Officer made contact with the owner, who stated he sold the vehicle to someone who will be picking it up.
1:33 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on Transportation Dr. The male driver was cited for driving without a license and released.
8:16 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 500 block of E. Dilley Ave. The male driver was cited for driving without a license and released.
10:29 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Hondo Ave. The female driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
July 31
2:53 AM – MCSO requested a unit to check on a residence on CR 7712. All was okay.
3:00 PM – A tagged vehicle in the 300 block of Fox Run will be towed in 72 hours if not relocated.
4:32 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 300 block of Hwy. 132 N. The driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
August 1
12:07 AM – Complainant in the 900 block of Ross Ave. advised she heard someone at her door. Officers checked the area; unable to locate.
12:08 AM – Report of a female seen slashing the tire on a white Chevy pickup in the Walmart parking lot. Officers made contact with the female, who advised she was trying to put a “plug” in her tire. All was okay.
8:24 AM – Complainant in the 600 block of Monticello Cir. advised officer of a blue van with a male driver. Officer made location and the vehicle was no longer in the area.
9:29 AM – Officer notified Public Works about a sinkhole in the roadway in the 200 block of Harralton Cir.
3:34 PM – Officers assisted the Devine VFD with a shed, carport, and garage on fire in the 100 block of Covey Ln.
