A 73-year old man was drug underneath the left side of his tractor’s hay baler attachment when two witnesses called for help. It happened a little after noon on Thursday, February 2 in the 4000 block of St. Hwy 173.
Somebody was apparently able to use a floor jack to free the man.
“It looked like he had been drug underneath for some distance, and that the tractor came to a stop when it hit a fence,” according to a preliminary report at Devine VFD. “We aren’t sure if he fell from the tractor or if it popped in gear while he was working on it. DPS, the Sheriff’s office, and EMS was on scene when we arrived and the tractor was already turned off.”
The victim was airlifted by Medivac and taken to University Hospital.
His condition was unknown.
