Lytle Trash Service/ Recycling changes, carts to be delivered to customers on July 14-15

Beginning July 20th, the City of Lytle will begin some changes to its trash service.
The new collection day is on Thursdays and the bulk waste limit is 4 cubic yards.
Collection of those bulk items will be monthly on the last Monday and Tuesday.
New trash carts will be delivered to customers on July 14th and 15th.
First day of the pick-up with new containers is Thursday, July 23rd.
A sample container is at City Hall in front of the building by the front door for people to look at.
The cart placement rules are as follows:

Please place the cart at the curb by 7 a.m. on Thursdays.
Place the cart so the handle is facing towards the home.
Do not overfill the cart. The lid must be securely closed. Items outside the cart will not be serviced.
Do not include items such as paint, motor oil or appliances containing CFCs.
Please place the cart 5 feet from obstructions such as mailboxes or trees and within 1foot of the curb.
Do not obstruct the collection of the cart by parking vehicles in the vicinity or cul-de-sac. Keep the area clear for easy access by collection trucks.
Recycling Drop-Off Center
The City of Lytle in conjunction with Waste Management are announcing the opening of a public drop-off for residential household recyclables.
The site is located at the City of Lytle Public Works Shop at 19503 Florence Street.
All items must be dry, unbagged, unshredded, and empty. Acceptable items include plastics #1 and #2, food and beverage cans, paper, uncoated cardboard and paperboard.
The following items will not be accepted: foam products, loose plastic bags or any bagged recyclables, food or beverage cartons, glass, food waste, and batteries or bulbs.
