Both Atascosa County and Frio County continue to struggle with COVID-19 as the coronavirus continues to spread throughout the state.
According to Frio County’s COVID Lifeline Dashboard, the county has seen 95 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 71 that are active. Twenty-four patients have recovered.
Forty-seven detainees at the GEO detention center in Pearsall have also tested positive for the coronavirus.
Atascosa County reported 89 confirmed cases of COVID-19, as per data from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Forty-one cases are currently active, and 46 patients have recovered.
Two patients have died.
