Lytle Powerlifting off to a strong start

Lady Pirate powerlifter Emili Oliver placed 1st at the Texas Strength Systems meet on Jan. 13 and Jan. 27.

Lytle Powerlifting has begun and the Pirates are off to a great season already. With two meets complete, they are looking at a great season and improving with every meet.
In their first meet “Mario Diaz 7th, Jason Vega 3rd, Dominic Reyes 2nd, Amadeus Trejo 1st, Rylan Wagner 1st. They also earned 3rd place as a team (which is a first time in recent memory for the boys). The girls, not to be out-done also had a great effort: Kaitlyn Ramirez 2nd, Alize Sanchez 2nd, April Bodie 1st, Diamond Walker-Smith 1st, Emili Oliver 1st. They are working hard and putting in the time and effort for a successful season and it’s really refreshing to see the friendly challenges and genuine efforts to help each other improve,” reported Coach Ric Richmond.
Their second meet went just as well. Ramirez earned 5th, Walker-Smith 5th, Isabella Diaz 3rd, Flores 2nd, Bodie 1st, and Oliver 1st.
The team will head to Holy Cross on February 22nd and this is the last girl’s qualifiers. They boys will have one more chance to qualify the next weekend at Holy Cross. The Girls Regionals will be at LRGV, Tx with the location yet to be determined. Boys Regionals will be at Bishop, Tx. Please check with your athlete if spectators will be allowed.
