Lytle Police Report May 6-12

May 6
12:04 AM – Officer responded to HEB Plus to assist Atascosa EMS with a woman giving birth in her vehicle.
12:50 AM –Officers responded to Certified Truck and Auto for a report of a burglary of a vehicle in progress. A 22-year-old male subject was arrested for Attempt Theft of a Vehicle > $2,500 < $30,000. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail. He attempted to “hotwire” a 1996 F150 Ford Pickup.
3:06 AM – Officer responded to Lytle High School for a report of a fire alarm.
3:42 AM – Officer responded to Main St. at McDonald St. for an abandoned riding mower in front of city hall parked on the landscaping rocks. Unknown if it fell off a vehicle during transport and presumably moved off road by passing motorist.
8:23 AM – Officer responded to HEB Plus for a report of a female sitting in front of the store. Officer made contact with the female but she did not wish to talk to officer. Officer later saw the female walking down on Main St. As officer rolled down his window, she stated she was ok.
10:09 AM – Officers responded to Exxon and followed up with the female from earlier. Officers spoke with her and she asked for a ride to San Antonio. Lt. Dear transported her to the Via Transit Center.
12:47 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 at FM 3175 to assist a motorist with a jumpstart. The vehicle would not start and had to be pushed with the patrol vehicle off the FM 3175 bridge. The subject called a family member for help.
5:05 PM – Officer responded to Dollar Tree to unlock a vehicle.
11:01 PM – Officer responded to 14600 Blk. of Main St. for a report of a 911 hang up call. Officer located the business and there was no one there and no vehicle in the parking lot.
11:10 PM – Officer was flagged down at the 14600 Blk. of Main St. and talked to officer in reference to a civil matter – child custody.
May 7
12:42 AM – While on a traffic stop the violator reported he lost his cell phone at HEB Plus yesterday afternoon. Complainant stated he was out late at night after being able to locate the iPhone’s location using another phone. Complainant stated the app showed the stolen iPhone to be on Ball Rd. Officer was unable to recover the phone.
5:15 AM – Officer noticed a man wearing all black walking on the side of the dark road at FM 2790 N near the Animal Control Facility. Officer made contact with the male and provided a courtside ride to Greenwood Rd.
3:20 PM – Officers responded to Railroad St. at N Somerset St. to assist Lytle Vol. Fire Dept. with a dumpster fire behind Topis Restaurant. The subject was burning Papers in a dumpster. Officers spoke with subject and advised not to burn again.
3:54 PM – Officers responded to FM 3175 at Casa Blanca to assist Atascosa Co. with a reckless driver.
6:29 PM – Officers responded to 12500 Blk. of FM 2790 E to assist Atascosa Co. with an open 911 call. All was okay.
7:15 PM – Officer responded to 15400 Blk. of Lake St. for a report of a welfare check. Officer arrived and found 3 family members outside of the residence including the welfare concerns mother and sister. All was okay.
7:16 PM – Officer responded to 17800 Blk. of Ball Rd. for a report of a verbal disturbance between neighbors over one neighbor flinging rocks against the other neighbor’s carport while mowing.
May 8
8:05 AM – Officer responded to 18500 Blk. of Live Oak St. for a report of a suspicious vehicle. All was okay, the driver had stopped to use her cell phone.
5:30 PM – Officer responded to John Lott Park for a welfare check on 2 young juveniles playing rough. It was discovered that the male and female were kicking water on each other and the female fell and appeared to be hurt as per the caller. Officer spoke with both juveniles who explained they were okay, they were just playing.
6:00 PM – Officer responded to 1800 Blk. of CR 6710 to assist Animal Control with a sickly raccoon. Animal Control Officer removed it from the location.
8:15 PM – Officer responded to 3700 Blk. of Hwy. 132 N for a follow-up on an open case.
10:30 PM – Complainant stopped by the Police Station and talked to an officer in reference to people following her.
10:49 PM – Officer responded to 16300 Blk. of Jacobs Path for a report of suspicious noise. Officer made location and cleared the backyard.
May 9
12:00 AM – Report of a reckless driver on the 17900 Blk. of W FM 2790 S resulted in the arrest of Eva Martinez Mejia for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or subsequent with Open Container. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail.
12:45 AM – Officer responded to IH 35 NB Frontage at Atascosa Co. Line to assist Atascosa Co. with an abandoned vehicle causing a traffic hazard.
1:30 AM – Officer responded to 15300 Blk. of Main St. for a report of an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.
7:42 AM – Officer responded to N Prairie St. at Railroad St. for a two vehicle crash.
3:00 PM – Officer responded to El Bufalo Pawn Shop for a report of a stolen firearm that was pawned. The shotgun was recovered. Original agency was Arlington PD.
7:30 PM – Officers responded to Little Caesars for a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.
May 10
10:30 AM – Officer responded to 19500 Blk. of McDonald St. for a report of a two vehicle crash. Both parties exchanged information prior to officer’s arrival and one had departed.
11:50 AM – Officer responded to 15200 Blk. of Hester St. for a report of a 911 hang up call. Officer arrived, all was oaky.
1:35 PM – Officer responded to 15000 Blk. of Mesquite St. and talked to complainant requesting information on criminal trespass warning procedures.
3:05 PM – Officer responded to N Somerset St. at Railroad St. for a report of a two vehicle crash.
3:45 PM – Complainant stopped by the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to complainant being solicited online for money via social application.
6:30 PM – Officers responded to N Somerset St. at Railroad St. for a report of a suicidal male. Further investigation resulted in the Emergency Detention and subject was transported to Southwest General Hospital.
9:37 PM – Officer responded to HEB Plus to unlock a vehicle.
9:50 PM – Officer responded to N Prairie St. at Railroad St. for a report of railroad crossing arms that were malfunctioning. Officer assisted with traffic control.
May 11
1:59 AM – Officers responded to Lytle ISD Bus Barn to assist complainant in reference to being stuck inside due to the gate code she was given not working. Officer called the operation manager and got the code to let the driver out.
3:00 AM – Officers responded to Southwest General Hospital to pick up complainant who was discharged from an emergency detention. Officers provided the individual a courtesy ride.
8:48 AM – Officer responded to NB IH 35 at FM 3175 Exit and assisted a motorist while changing a flat tire.
2:31 PM – Officers responded to Pumphouse Car Wash and talked to complainant in reference to a Silverado truck that was spinning tires in water puddles in the area of the car wash. Officer made contact with two individuals in the truck and neither the driver nor the passenger had a valid driver license. A licensed driver was called to take the truck back to the address of the registered owner and both were advised to not drive back without a valid license.
5:41 PM – Officer responded to Bealls for a report of a shoplifter who took $387 worth of merchandise and ran out the front door.
9:05 PM – Officers responded to Gunz and Roses Boutique for a report of a burglary in action. Officers made contact with two subjects who stated they were hired to do work on the windows.
10:20 PM – Officer responded to Lytle Apartments for a report of a male who was found passed out outside an apartment. A 65-year-old male subject was arrested for Public Intoxication. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail.
11:32 PM – Officer responded to Main St. at S Somerset St. for a report of a two vehicle crash.
May 12
2:25 AM – Officer responded to 15400 Blk. of Lake St. for a report of a suspicious vehicle occupied by a male parked in front of the residence. Officer identified the driver who stated he was hoping the resident would allow him to spend the night at that house.
3:16 AM – Officer responded to 14600 Blk. of Main St. for a report of a 911 hang up call. All businesses were locked and no vehicles present. All was okay.
3:50 AM – Business check at the Lytle High School resulted in the discovery of two unlocked doors. Operations Manager was contacted and stated he would lock the building.
8:30 AM – Officer responded to 19500 Blk. of McDonald St. for a welfare check on cattle being transported in a trailer. Officer arrived but was unable to locate.
8:40 AM – Officer responded to Coal Mine for a report of a disabled train blocking the intersection.
10:15 AM – Officer responded to Laredo St. at N Prairie St. for a report of debris on the roadway causing traffic hazard. Officer arrived and removed debris.
1:01 PM – Highway Patrol Officer responded to IH 35 at Mile Marker 133 to assist the Highway Patrol with checking on a DPS Trooper who was not answering the radio. While en route, officer was canceled.
1:59 PM – Officer responded to 3000 Blk. of Hwy. 132 N and conducted a follow up on an open case.
3:20 PM – Officer responded to Office St. for a report of loud music in the vicinity.
4:30 PM – Officer responded to 19800 Blk. of Bruce St. for a report of a welfare check on an elderly person. Officer assisted the elderly resident with charging his motorized wheelchair. All was okay.
