Lucy Mae Spaeth Luker

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lucy Mae Spaeth Luker, of Lytle, Texas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 2019 in Pasadena, Texas at the age of 91 years. Lucy was born February 13, 1928 in Lindsay, Cooke County, Texas, the third youngest of thirteen children born to Albert and Josephine Block Spaeth. She is the last surviving of all of the children.
On December 20, 1952, Lucy married Carl Stanley Luker in San Antonio, Texas. Lucy and Carl were blessed with four children and fifty-one years of marriage at the time of Carl’s passing on March 15, 2004.
Lucy was an active member of the Lytle community until it became necessary to move to Pasadena to be closer to her daughter. She was Chaplain of the Medina Valley VFW #8134 Ladies Auxiliary in La Coste, former Lytle Public Library board of directors, Lytle Women’s Club, and Merry Widows. She was also active in several Bunco and Domino Clubs. Lucy and her husband were both members of several railroad retirement groups.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Josephine Spaeth; husband, CarlLuker; sons, Anthony Luker and Carl Luker, Jr.; and twelve siblings.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Randy Dowling of Deer Park, Texas, Annie and Randy Roebuck of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Christy (Seth) Niebaum, Scott Dowling, Tracy (Jacob) Spence, and Jeff Roebuck; great-grandchildren, Natalie Niebaum and George Spence; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, in Castroville. Funeral Service will be Monday, July 1, 2019 at 10:00 am at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Committal Service and Interment will follow on Monday afternoon at 2:00 pm at Stockdale Memorial Cemetery in Stockdale, Texas.
Memorials may be made in Lucy’s memory to Lytle Public Library, Lytle Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.
