The two best friends have been competing for the Eagle rank since they were 8 years old, racing to see who gets the Eagle first. They passed the board of review the same day. Their Court of Honor is this coming Wednesday, November 20th.
Travis is the second eagle in his family while Isaiah is the third in his family These boys have been friends since they were 4 years old.
Isaiah and Travis each did a different project for SASH, San Antonio State Hospital. Travis cleaned up one of the cemeteries and repainted the headstones. Isaiah did a beautification project for the entrance of the main residence buildings. They both worked with the volunteer coordinator there.
Each of these boys started in the Cub Scout program at 8 years old. They each advanced to the Boy Scout program at the age of 11, and have now earned the Eagle.
“I am so proud that they have stuck through the program and accomplished the rank of Eagle,” said Isaiah’s father Mr. Romero. “These boys have grown and matured together over the years and have been able to serve the community and their families in the end receiving the highest scouting honor. They probably don’t realize the example of goodness they are to those around them but to see these boys serving and sacrificing their time, talents, and strength to help others is what any parent wants of their children.”
