Leonard John Castillo, Sr.

Leonard John Castillo, Sr. left this world moments before midnight on January 21, 2022 in his home, just before his 64th birthday on January 22. He was born in 1958, and spent his life as a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and teacher of the Catholic faith.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dolores (Lola), his son, Baby Andy, and his daughters-in-law Jessica and Cristine.
He is survived by his father Bonifacio (Boni), and his brother Nick. His Wife, Mary Lou, and his children Leonard II, Gabriel, Julian, Veronica and her husband Carlos, Marcos and his wife Elise. His 11 grandchildren, Leonard John III, Weston, and Adalynn Castillo, Gracey Castillo, Carisma, Aeneas, Penelope, Calliope, Persephone, and Diomedes Loredo, and Luciana Castillo. As well as his aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He cherished his life in marriage for 41 years to Mary Lou, and together they had 6 children and 11 grandchildren. He worked as a designer/drafter at MYCOM for 24 years where he retired from in 2019. He devoted over 20 years of his life as a catechist serving both St. Andrew and St. John Bosco churches, leading many people through their faith journey. He was adored and loved and will be greatly missed.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 5:00PM till 9:00PM with a Rosary being recited at 7:00PM at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine, Texas. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Natalia at 10:00AM with interment to following St. Joseph Cemetery Devine.
