The Lytle Lady Pirate Cross Country team put on quite a show at Devine Golf Club last Wednesday morning winning the overall team championship with 40 points. Runner-up Pleasanton finished with 55.
Marissa Lopez took home the 2nd place medal with a 13:33 individual time. Lopez was edged out by champion Addie Applebaum of San Antonio Christian who ran a 13:02.
Samanth Mujica placed 4th at 13”42 and teammate Eisabel Guerrero also finished in the top 10 at 7th place running a 13:46. Natalie Williams was the last scoring runner to cross the finish line as she placed 19th with a 14:09.
Dezmarie Ortega was not far off pace with a 21st place showing and a recorded time of 14:28.
This is the Lady Pirates last regular season meet as they prepare for district competition where they are working toward back-to-back championships.
