Lady Mustangs take win from Wolves

On February 2nd, the Lady Mustangs faced off against Dilley at home and took the win at 61-38. They may have started off slow but their strong defense kept them in the game until their offense got hot.
“Our defense was a little sluggish, and we struggled shooting. During the half, I challenged the girls to settle in and find their rhythm offensively and to step up their defense. They definitely didn’t disappoint. That was probably the best 3rd quarter we’ve played all season. I was proud of the girls for coming out shooting and not letting their missed shots in the first half affect them in the second.
The third quarter was a different story though. We came out on fire hitting four 3 pointers to start the quarter and jump start our play. We outscored Dilley 21 to 2 in the 3rd. We continued to find the hoop in the 4th quarter pouring in another 18 points,” said Coach Steven Spangler.
Tina Fulton led the Lady Mustangs with 21, Kylee Spangler had 15, Jelli Padilla had 11, KK Lara had 9, Trista Boucher with 3, and Heidi Vasquez scored 2.
