The Lady Mustangs had two hard games last week but they kept pace with Nixon-Smiley and Uvalde. Now 2-8 for the season, the Lady Mustangs have some work to do before they open district on December 7th. They have one more tournament this weekend in Harper to get prepared before they host Jourdanton. The Squaws are 5-1 after a tournament and Natalia will have to find a way to block out the Squaw’s top guard.
Playing in Nixon-Smiley, the Lady Mustangs lost by just 11 after being down 18-31 at the end of the first half. Both teams scored 13 in the third quarter but Natalia outscored Nixon 17-15 in the fourth quarter. But that drive was not enough and Natalia lost 48-59.

On Tuesday, the Lady Mustangs hosted Uvalde and this game went into overtime! The exciting last few minutes of overtime put the Wolves on top at 54-51 but Natalia nearly had the game. Coach Steven Spangler and his team ran their plays and it was good for them to have a close pre-season game to help work out what they need to do for a win.
