Lady Mustang track competes in Lytle

The Natalia Lady Mustang Track and Field team competed in Lytle last week at Walter Joyce Stadium as non-district meets continued. Natalia was without the services of numerous athletes due to Powerlifting and Softball, but still managed to score plenty of points.
Natalia finished in 5th place at the meet with 54 team points, as Karnes City won the meet with 204team points. Following KC was Lytle-145, Cotulla-60 and Dilley-60.
“Our Varsity girls and JV competed well considering the number of athletes they were missing due to other sporting events,” Coach Jason Reynolds said. “We had several young ladies step up and fill in spots that we had open.”
Looking at Relay action for Natalia, the Lady Stang 4×100 team of Regan Juarez, Tina Fulton, Cindy Perez, and Samantha Stallworth were able to finish in 3rd place with a time of 56.93. Other finishes: 100 M. Hurdles- Sam Stallworth 2nd- 20.45, Reagan Juarez 3rd-22.04 and Adriana Calvillo 4th-24.33. 100 M. Dash- Tina Fulton 5th-15.24, Cindy Perez 6th-15.57. 300 M. Hurdles- Stallworth 2nd-57.61, Juarez 3rd-1:08.25, Calvillo 4th-1:16.70. SHot Put- Julie Corona 6th-22’0”. Triple Jump- Calvillo 6th-26’8”.
JV Lady Stangs
The Natalia JV Lady Stangs were able to finish in 4th place as a team with 64 team points ahead of Dilley-34, KC won the meet with 93 team points, as Cotulla-85 won 2nd and Lytle-75 won 3rd place.
Liberty Gilkey led the girls in blue, as she finished in 1st place in the Triple Jump with a mark of 13’5” and 1st in the 100 M. Dash with a time of 14.66. Other finishes: 100 M. Dash- Katie Curial 3rd-15.19. 200 M. Dash- Curial 3rd-33.87, Gilkey 3rd-34.09. Shot Put- Bailey 5th-22’8.5”. Triple Jump- Curial 1st-27’3.5”.
Natalia travels to Dilley this Thursday for a non-district meet at Gosch Field.
