JV Warhorses out swinging

Devine’s JV Warhorses faced off against Cuero and Navarro last week in their final two games before district starts this Friday in Hondo. 12-5 in district, the JV team has been working hard all season and is looking forward to taking district. They will play Hondo, Somerset, and Pleasanton this year.
The JV Warhorses took on Navarro on March 29th and after a long 7 innings, the JV team lost 0-2. They only allowed Navarro to earn runs in the first inning. L. Friesenhahan earned 4 strike outs and 16 first pitch strikes in the 7 inning game.
Cuero was a tough game that Devine lost 3-11 on April 1st. S. Mills and K. Campbell each earned 7 first pitch strikes. L. Camarillo had 1 RBI and K. Hackebiel had 2 hits. Devine earned their 3 runs in the top of the 5th but could not come back from so far behind.
The JV will play at home against Somerset on April 13th, in Pleasanton on April 16th, and at home again against Hondo April 20th.
