JV Lady Mustangs go 2-0

Now 5-5 in district, the JV Lady Mustangs went 2-0 last week against Lytle and Cotulla. With just a couple of games left, Natalia will play Dilley at home this Friday, at West Campus on Tuesday and then finish district against Karnes City on Friday, February 4th.
Playing in Lytle on Tuesday, the Lady Mustangs worked hard and took down the Pirates in the rivalry game. Winning the first quarter 11-6, Natalia was able to stop the Pirates’ drives. This set the pace for the rest of the game and Natalia only allowed 2 points each in the last three quarters to win the game 37-12.
Leading the scoring for Natalia was A. Fulton with 10 points and A. Jones was right behind with 8 points. R. Juarez and M. Castro each had 6 points and V. Rios and D. Fernandez had 2 points each.
Friday night on the road it was a much closer game. Leading most of the game, Cotulla attempted a comeback in the fourth by out shooting Natalia 9-3. The Lady Mustangs hung on and won 21-18.
J. Velasquez was the top scorer with 8 points, A. Fulton had 7, M. Castro 4, and K. Garcia scored 2 points for Natalia.
