JV Arabians win twice

On January 12, the JV Arabians traveled down to Crystal City and beat them 40-9. “I am very proud of the girls for keeping their composure against a very physical team. The girls kept their head in the game and kept playing hard,” said Coach Leigh Anne McIver.
The JV Arabians held their opponent from scoring more than 10 points the whole game while they scored an average of 10 points each quarter. Dana Aaron 11 points 1 rebound, Jasmine Pompa 9 points 7 rebounds, Allyson Taylor 8 points 6 rebounds, Alexa Garza 4 points, Gabby Rodriguez 3 points 3 rebounds, Karli Geyer 2 points 4 rebounds, Scarlett Smith 2 points 3 rebounds, Kaylee Howard 1 point 3 rebounds.
To make their record 4-0, the JV Arabians beat Pearsall 34-13. Pearsall tried running different defenses throughout the game but the Arabians adjusted to each change and continued to be offensively aggressive.
At the half Devine led 19-3 but in the third Pearsall tried to go on an offensive run and the Arabians countered with a strong defense, holding them to just 7 points that quarter. The final score was 34-13.
Geyer scored 9 points 4 rebounds, Aaron 8 points 1 rebound, Rodriguez 5 points 1 rebound, Pompa 5 points 9 rebounds, Smith 4 points 1 rebound, Howard 2 points 2 rebounds, and Taylor 1 scored 1 point.
