JV Arabians finish week 2-1 in District

After beating Hondo last week, the JV Arabians had their second big district win over Carrizo Springs on January 14th. However, on Friday they suffered their first district loss to Crystal City at 37-46.
Carrizo Springs came out strong and kept up with the Arabians ending the first quarter 8-6. But in the second Devine ran away with the score and led 22-9 at the half. The Arabians continued to press and push offensively in the second half of the game to win it 34-23 despite Carrizo Springs late half drive.

Friday night against Crystal City, the JV Arabians kept up with the Lady Javelinas in the first half but came out slower in the second and Crystal City’s lead grew to 37-25 at the end of the third. The Arabians did outscore the Lady Javelinas 11-9 in the fourth but could not overcome the point gap and lost 46-37.

Now 2-1 in district, the Arabians will play in Hondo next Tuesday and at home against Carrizo Springs Friday, January 31st.
