JV Arabians double down on Wins

The JV Arabians have started their 2021 season off with two big wins over Pleasanton and Burbank. It was a double header on August 10th, and coached by Julie Oropeza, the JV Arabians were ready to start their season off on the right path.
Pleasanton was not ready for the JV Arabians aggressive offense. With “solid serve receive that led to many good offensive opportunities for the Arabians. They capitalized repeatedly with aggressive offense, racking up kill after kill,” said Coach Oropeza. Winning 25-7 and 25-11, the JV squad earned a total of 11 aces.
Karson Brown 2 aces, 5 kills, 1 dig. Neenah Guerrero 3 digs. Kaylee Romano 2 aces, 1 kill. Kate Featherly 2 aces, 1 kill, 8 assists. Makayla Rivera 2 kills. Denise Contreras 1 kill. Kelsey Dishman 1 ace, 3 assists. Avery Mobley 1 block. Maddie DuBose 4 aces, 3 kills.
After a short break, the Arabians took on Burbank. They made quick work of the Bulldogs winning 25-7, and 25-10. “Eight service aces, combined with 13 team kills, kept Burbank on the defensive the whole game,” reported Coach Oropeza.
Brown 7 kills. Guerrero 1 ace, 3 digs. Romano 5 aces. Featherly 2 aces, 9 assists. Rivera 2 kills. Contreras 1 kill. Dishman 2 digs, 4 assists. Mobley 1 kill. DuBose 2 kills.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with this group of girls tonight. They work hard at practice, and it shows. We passed the ball well and that led to many more great things offensively. If we can continue to do all of these things well, we will have an amazing season,” Coach Oropeza.
The JV will play in Bandera on August 24th and then at home against La Vernia on August 31st.
