The Devine Arabians brought back medals in both Varsity and JV levels of competition last weekend.
Caitlyn Breiten and Amy Bailey teamed up to win the Consolation Medal in the Varsity Girls Doubles.
They lost to a Goliad team (4-8) in their first round, then beat Cruz/Cruz of Jourdanton for the consolation title.
JoJo Villanueva and Madi Mohr played doubles in the JV division. They beat Gonzales/Casias of Poteet (8-0), Vives/Bunger of Jourdanton (8-5), and Bluhm/Galneau from Goliad (8-5) to win 1st place.
Elizabeth Alvarado/Bella Elias lost their first round to Memorial JV team (5-8), then lost to Olivarez/Hernandez in the consolation bracket.
“The recent rainy weather has once again spoiled our tennis matches. On Thursday, Feb 22nd, our JV Boy’s tournament in Jourdanton was cancelled. The Devine Varsity was scheduled to play in Uvalde, however both days were canceled as well. The Varsity Tennis Team will be playing at East Central this Friday,” said Coach Melanie Sostarich.
