Isabel M. Martinez, of Castroville, passed away on August 25, 2019 at the age of 91 years. She was born March 3, 1928 in Montell, Texas to Felipe C. Martinez and Isabel Val Verde Martinez.
Survivors include her sons, Ruben (Yolanda) Martinez of San Antonio and Jose Martinez (Betty) of Hondo; daughters, Norma Martinez, Leticia (Lino) Alvarez and Romelia (Chris) Garza all of Castroville; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Felipe Martinez, Jr. of Brackettville and sisters, Celstina Hernandez of Brackettville, Tanislada Moreno of Quemado, Texas and Petra Benites of Castroville.
Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Isabel Martinez; husband, Mario F. Martinez; son, Rene Martinez; great-granddaughter, Kendra Alvarez; sister, Jovita Benites and brothers, Bonfacio Martinez and Porfirio Martinez.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 29, 2019 starting at 4:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be Friday, August 30, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
