Glenn Royce Haass

Glenn Royce Haass, of Pearson, passed away on July 16, 2018 at the age of 85 years. He was born July 13, 1933 in La Coste, the second of three children of Charles Fred Haass and Lorene Anna Haass.
In 1951, he graduated from La Coste High School. After high school, Glenn served in the Navy on the USS Princeton Aircraft Carrier during the Korean War.
After returning home from serving his country, he worked at Gary Aircraft in Hondo and then at Kelly Air Force Base, retiring from Kelly as an aircraft mechanic supervisor.
After his retirement, he kept busy doing custom hay baling and working his cattle. He enjoyed fishing with his Bass Club buddies all over South Texas and was always available when his family and friends needed help. He was a member of Quihi Gun Club and was a founding member of Medina Valley Hunter’s Club.
On October 20, 1956 he married Frances Ann Boehle. They were blessed with over 58 years of marriage at the time of her passing on July 27, 2015.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ann Boehle Haass; his parents; and his sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Bill Newsom.
Survivors include his son, Dean Haass of Devine; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Glenn Barrow of Devine, Kimberly and Kerry Winters of Natalia; sister and brother-in-law, Marjean and John T. Boehme of Castroville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and “one on the way”; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Thursday, July 26, 2018 starting at 5 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 7 pm. A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection was Friday, July 27, 2018 at 10 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with military honors. Services concluded at the church.
