Garrel Glen Noel

Garrel Glen Noel of Alpine, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in Lytle, Texas at the age of 83. He was born November 30, 1937 in Alpine to Garrel Glen and Emma Mae (Manning) Noel, Sr.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Garrel and Emma Noel.; brother, Leon Noel; sister, Linda Jo Noel.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Griggs of Florida; Leslie Tolan of California; Carrie Noel of Lytle; grandchildren, Bud Pope, Kaley Tolan, Benjamin Tolan, Robert Griggs, Matthew Griggs, Ana Noel Timms, Jayson Acosta, Evelina Herrera, Iliana Herrera, Angelina Herrera, Nickolas Herrera; great-Grandchildren, Keira Tolan, Killian Tolan, Kenzie Tolan, Karley-Rae Tolan, Kash Tolan, Kassidy Schoettler, Kyler Schoettler, Eleanor Griggs, Eli Timms, Audrey Lynn Rodriguez, Mykel Timms; brother, Hugh (Alisha) Noel; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Glen served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly defended his country, he received several medals and awards while in the service including: Air Medal, Expert Rifle, Marksman, and Sharpshooter. He put himself through college earning his bachelor’s degree as an Aeronautical Engineer. He worked for Pratt & Whitney Aerospace Company in Florida and later at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio where he retired. Glen moved to Lytle, Texas in 1989 where he purchased a small ranch. He spent much of his time volunteering at Lytle Feed and Seed where he helped and visited with customers and filled propane cylinders. Later, he worked at Patriot Gas where he was a certified bottle fill technician. He is known for his kindness and helpfulness to the Lytle Community, most recently through the harsh winter storm where he worked late and after hours filling propane bottles so that those in the community could stay warm. Glen was the type of man that wanted to do what he could for others, even if it meant just putting a smile on their face. He is greatly missed and loved by all those who knew him.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, 10:00 A.M. at the VFW Memorial Park 15421 Main Street in Lytle, Texas.
