Miriam Dawn Lovelace

Miriam Dawn Lovelace, 57, passed away peacefully at home in Lytle, Texas on 18 April, 2021 after a long illness. She passed away in her sleep with her husband Mark by her side.
Miriam was born to Asberry and Darcus Carlton on 10 October 1963 in Greenville, South Carolina. She grew up on Baldwin Street, in a mill village, and was surrounded by family. She met her husband Mark through her cousin Darrell Newman, and they married in 1983. Mark was a Navy man, so Miriam moved to Virginia to start her family. Miriam’s career was 100% focused on raising her family and supporting the career of her husband. She was highly intelligent, focused, organized, and one of the most caring individuals you could ever meet.
Miriam had great compassion for children and animals, and took great pains to manage the meager finances of the young family while providing the best possible care for her children. Miriam had a sharp wit, a wry smile, a dry sense of humor, and later in life a love for porcelain dolls which she collected and maintained for many years.
Miriam was preceded in death by her parents Asberry and Darcus, brothers Darren and Macks, and her daughter Mattie Elizabeth. She is survived by her brothers Martin and Tim, sisters Debra and Darlene, of Greenville, South Carolina, husband Mark of Lytle, Texas, and the brightest lights of her life, sons, Michael and wife Elsbeth of Phoenix, Arizona, and Macks of Fargo, North Dakota.
Miriam wished to be cremated, and her remains will be buried alongside her daughter Mattie Elizabeth in a private ceremony. She asked that you make donations to local animal shelters and pet rescues in lieu of flowers.
