Freshman D shines for Warhorses vs Navarro

Although the final score was tied at two touchdowns apiece at the end of the night, the Freshman Warhorse football team did an outstanding job shutting down the Navarro Panthers offense during the team’s final tune-up before their season opening game at Warhorse Stadium Thursday evening.
According to defensive coach Bart Oropeza, “We came out hesitant and not ready to play the first few plays of the scrimmage. Although we started a bit slow, we quickly picked it up.
Navarro is a very fast and physical team, and we responded well after the first few plays.
Ralph Estella, Aiden Zapata, and Devon Ramirez played very well at the defensive end position while Logan Camarillo and Gordon Stolzman made positive plays at defensive tackle.
Marcus Rodriguez and Jaiden Burford covered well in the secondary and our starting linebackers Aaron Saenz and Nick Ortiz made good reads and several tackles.
Honestly, I think we all played well and improved as the scrimmage went on. I am very excited to get this season started!”
