Freshman Arabians finish season with win

Looking for revenge, the Freshman Arabians took on Somerset on Tuesday night. After falling to them by just two points in their last season, the Arabians took control of the game and won 36-11. This win put the Arabians at 6-6 and ended their season.
Tied 4-4 at the end of the first, the Arabian defense took control and stopped every Bulldog attempt at scoring. Ending the half 17-4, Devine took the lead and was not going to give it up. They held Somerset to just 2 points in the third and scored 10 of their own. Somerset stepped it up in the 4th but it was too late. The Arabians continued to dominate and won 36-11.
“What a way to end the season! This time we were looking for revenge after the devastating 2 point loss a couple of weeks ago. We had a plan and executed that plan well. Offensively, we did a great job of taking care of the ball and controlling the tempo. Defensively, we were aggressive as we got in the passing lanes and were able to force stops. Overall, we had a successful season. There is always going to be ups and downs but we all learned a lot. I’m proud of these girls and what they have accomplished this year. I can’t wait to see what they do in the future,” said Coach Kara Stacy.
Scoring in their final game was Lynn Lawler with 9 points, Dani Gutierrez had a free-throw, Jilliyan Guajardo with 6, Brooke Thompson scored 8, and Maddie DuBose lead with 11. Abby Saunders and Savannah Parker were impressive on the defensive side of the game.
