Filly XC closes season in Uvalde at District 30-4A meet

The 7th and 8th grade Fillys ended their 2021 season with their district meet in Uvalde last Saturday morning. Kylee Monreal paced the seventh grade finishing as runner-up while 8th Fillys Rachel Stotts, Kenadi Marek, Amy Carr, and Melia Hinojosa all placed in the top 10.
7th grade
Kylee Monreal ran her two-mile time in 14:40 to get the silver medal. Her second-place finish was only 12-seconds behind champion Rihanna Urrabazo of Crystal City.
Allison Canada was the only other seventh grade Filly in competition. Canada placed 13th with a 17:39.
8th grade
Rachel Stotts finished up her terrific season placing third overall with a 13:40 two-mile time. Stotts’s time was only seven seconds behind runner-up Victoria Renteria of Hondo. Arianna Rivera of Carrizo Springs was the individual champion finishing in 13:06.
Photo finishers Kenadi Marek and Amy Carr were neck-and-neck at the finish line. Marek came in sixth running 15:07-flat while new teammate Carr came in seventh in 15:07.3.
Melia Hinojosa placed ninth with a 15:25.
