Emil Shelton Soret was born in Morenci, Arizona on October 21, 1930. He passed away on November 1, 2018.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas, and a Master of Science from the University of Colorado. He was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1954 and served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis; sons, Jim Soret and wife, Deide; Ron Soret and wife, Cathy; daughter, Karen Treadway and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Thomas, Allison, Matthew, Jason, Sarah, Heather and Miriam; great-grandchildren, Collins, Reilly, and Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E.O. and Lois Soret; brother, Dr. T.W. Soret.
Shelton and Phyllis owned a Western Auto store in Eagle Pass, Texas and lived there 40 years. They were active members of the Redeemer Episcopal Church. They moved to Devine, Texas in 2004 and became active members of St. Matthias’ Episcopal Church.

A Memorial Service is to be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Matthias’ Episcopal Church, 901N. Teel Dr., Devine, Texas 78016.
