Devine Police Report July 9-13

July 9
5:27 AM – Officer dispatched to the 200 block of Hwy. 132 N. in reference to a gray vehicle parked near a broken-down vehicle in the area. Officer made contact with a male subject who stated another vehicle was on location looking through pickup when he drove up to his friend’s truck. Everything appeared okay.
9:50 AM – Officers dispatched in reference to a pickup possibly with two undocumented immigrants.
11:35 AM – The driver and two occupants of the pickup in the previous entry were taken into custody by Border Patrol.
11:26 PM – Officers served a warrant for burglary of a habitation on a male subject in the 100 block of W. College Ave. The subject was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The subject was jailed.
July 10
1:30 AM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 100 block of S. Teel Dr. The male driver was cited for driving without a license and released.
5:18 PM – Officer dispatched to IH-35 in reference to a white sedan failing to maintain a single lane; unable to locate.
5:35 PM – 18-wheelers were removed from Oak Hill Dr.
July 11
12:08 AM – Officers dispatched to IH-35 in reference to a male subject walking on the bridge. Officers made contact with subject parked on roadway. Everything appeared okay.
12:39 AM – Officer dispatched to the 100 block of IH-35 N. in reference to a gray sedan blocking the roadway. The vehicle had already been towed to the park and ride.
12:50 PM – Officers dispatched to IH-35 NB in reference to a gray Jeep driving at a high rate of speed and failing to maintain a single lane; unable to locate.
7:54 PM – Officers dispatched to IH-35 SB in reference to a white Jeep all over the roadway; unable to locate.
8:12 PM – Assisted Natalia PD with a physical disturbance between a female subject and a male subject.
10:30 PM – Complainant reported loud music in the 1100 block of W. Hondo Ave. Homeowner agreed to turn it down.
July 12
1:07 AM – The lights were left on in a vehicle parked in the gated teacher parking lot at Devine High School. Officer was unable to turn off the lights because the vehicle was locked. All appeared okay.
2:18 AM – Complainant in the 600 block of E. Hondo Ave. reported a gray car circling in the parking lot before parking by the dumpster. A male subject was ID’d and stated he was looking for another male subject. Complainant wanted the subject to leave the location due to no one being registered with the name he was looking for.
2:46 AM – Stop sign knocked down at the park and ride. TxDot was notified.
2:20 PM – Report of 18-wheelers speeding on Hwy. 173. Officer made location and observed traffic.
July 13
9:50 AM – Major accident on IH-35 SB.
1:02 PM – Complainant reported 18-wheelers hauling gravel speeding and running red lights on W. Hondo Ave.
6:38 PM – A male subject at Walmart was jailed for theft $100-750 and possession of a controlled substance (meth).
