Devine ISD to consider saying thanks with an employee retention payment

Devine ISD called a special meeting for this Thursday, December 4 to “Consider and take possible action to approve public purpose resolution regarding employee retention payment and to approve a budget amendment.”
“Every District employee has demonstrated absolute commitment to the district and our kiddos during the Covid pandemic by taking on extra duties and responsibilities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment. Moving forward with a Covid pandemic stipend payment is a way to recognize their selfless dedication to our children,” said Devine ISD Superintendent Todd Grandjean.
“The Covid -19 pandemic has placed additional burden on Devine ISD staff who must ensure we practice safety protocols and balance the needs of our onsite and remote learners. In consideration of this increased workload , this Thursday the school board will be contemplating a one-time additional payment for all staff,” said Trustee Renee Frieda.
The meeting will be in the DSAC at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 4.
