Devine extends emergency declaration to July

The Devine City Council extended its emergency declaration for another month during the Regular meeting last Tuesday, June 16.
The declaration, which can be read on the City’s website at www.cityofdevine.org, is in place through at least July 22.
Mayor Cory Thompson recommended that the City stick with its current measures, which include keeping City Hall and the Driscoll Public Library closed to the public.
“The City offices seem to be running very well, because we have the drive-through window,” Thompson said.
Interim City Administrator Dora Rodriguez pointed out that the library has a drop box and curbside pickup for library materials.
“[Patrons] are not able to use the actual computers, but they do have Wi-Fi,” Thompson said, which can be utilized from the library parking lot.
City parks also remain open.
