The parade down Hwy 173 kicks off at 10 am to begin the festivities. The Festival in downtown Devine starts at 10 am as well. The DJ will begin playing around 10:45 am, and live music kicks off at 1 pm and goes on until midnight.
The carnival can also be enjoyed ahead of time from 6-9 pm on Thursday and Friday.
What’s new this year? “Lots of new fun things are planned, along with the usual favorites, the Carnival, Parade, and lots of Food Tents & Trucks.” “The Kids’ Corral will feature fun things like bubbles, rock painting, chalk art, plus a Roping Station!” said Chamber President Marcus Buckner. So, it sounds like lots to do for adults and kids alike in downtown Devine at the Fall Festival on November 1-2, 2019!
Those traditional favorites will be enjoyed along with some new features: “Kids’ Corral” featuring stations for Bubbles, Chalk Art, Rock Painting, and Roping (with Cactus Ropes)! FCCLA students from Devine High will be volunteering their help at the corral; a Knockerball Court (from Alamo Knockerball) will be a great new addition to the festival; Fun Run Race prior to the Parade for the early risers; a Cornhole Tournament (org. Jennifer Schott) will bring out the competitive side of folks; Second Music Stage on College Street (sponsored by Medina Electric) will feature six musicians; Twelve total musical artists will be performing on TWO stages; Cactus Art Display by Joyce Bendele & artists from Daystar Art Studio; and the Museum Gallery in the Community Center, featuring pictures and films from the Devine Cactus Zoo from the 1950s, and more!
